Country music often consists of ballads and dance tunes with generally simple forms, folk lyrics, and harmonies mostly accompanied by string instruments such as banjos, electric and acoustic guitars, steel guitars (such as pedal steels and dobros), and fiddles as well as harmonicas. Toby Keith Covel (born July 8, 1961) is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. Keith released his first four studio albums for various divisions of Mercury Records before leaving Mercury in 1998. These albums all earned Gold or higher certification and produced several Top Ten singles, including his debut "Should've Been a Cowboy", which topped the country charts and was the most-played country song of the 1990s. The song has received three million spins since its release, according to Broadcast Music Incorporated.
Blake Tollison Shelton (born June 18, 1976) is an American country music singer and television personality. In 2001, he made his debut with the single "Austin". Shelton is also known for his role as a judge on the televised singing competitions Nashville Star, Clash of the Choirs, and as a coach on NBC's The Voice. He has been on The Voice since its inception, and, so far, in eight of twenty-one seasons, a member of his team has won.
Later life and spiritualism
Doyle had been interested in spiritualism (the belief in the ability of the living to communicate with the dead) since he rejected his Roman Catholic faith in 1880. In 1915 he experienced a new belief in "psychic religion," or spiritualism, so after the war, he devoted the rest of his life and career to spreading his new faith in a series of works.
